TTU President's Ambassador is recent graduate  

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 14, 2005) – A Tennessee Tech University President’s Ambassador from Blount County, with ties to Sparta, West Virginia and California, earned his degree during the university’s recent commencement ceremony at the Hooper Eblen Center.

Robert Long of Maryville graduated from TTU’s College of Business with a degree in general management.

As a President’s Ambassador, he served in an advisory capacity to TTU President Bob Bell, providing student perspectives on campus issues. He also served as a student representative of the university, providing information and services to individuals and campus visitors and assisting during special events.

Long is the son of Jim Long of Maryville and Renee Rojas of San Francisco, Calif. He is the grandson of George and Joyce Carroll of Sparta, and Loretta Long of Boomer, W.V.

At TTU, he was the recipient of the Avo Anderson Scholarship and a member of the university’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honor society for business and management.

Following commencement, Long plans to pursue a career with the Boeing Co.
