COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 6, 2005) — Tennessee Tech University today
has new appointees as interim vice presidents for University Advancement
and for Business and Fiscal Affairs.
Tom Hamilton replaces Paul Isbell upon his retirement as vice president
of University Advancement, and Linda Maxwell replaces Terry Rector upon
his retirement as vice president of Business and Fiscal Affairs.
Both Hamilton and Maxwell formerly served as associate vice presidents
of their respective departments. Search committees will be formed this
fall with the expectation that the positions will be filled on a permanent
basis next year.
In his role as vice president of University Advancement, Hamilton is
responsible to the university president for managing a comprehensive institutional
advancement program that includes five distinct operations — advancement
services, alumni relations, photographic services, public affairs and
university development.
Hamilton, as TTU’s chief development officer, also cultivates and
solicits selected donor prospects, particularly among major corporations,
foundations and individuals, with the goal of generating large gifts for
the university, and plans, executes and reports on periodic major fund
raising campaigns as required for the university’s advancement.
Maxwell, in her role as vice president of Business and Fiscal Affairs,
serves as TTU’s chief fiscal officer, making her responsible to
the university president for receiving, disbursing and accounting of all
money due the institution and for disbursing all funds in accordance with
the annual budget of nearly $100 million.
She also administers the financial and accounting aspects of student
loans, grants and scholarships and provides financial management of the
university’s auxiliary enterprises, including plant operations,
business services, buildings and grounds, utilities and telecommunications
and with direct supervision of food services and TTU’s post office.
