COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (March 7, 2005) – Music and art combine in a
Tennessee Tech University Music Education Series workshop entitled “Orff
Process: Making Music Together and Connecting Across the Curriculum”
from 9 a.m. to noon on April 2 in the TTU Band Room.
Guest clinician Susanne Burgess will direct the workshop, which will
offer features applicable to students, teachers and anyone else interested
in learning music integration techniques.
Burgess is the director of music education at the Southeast Center for
Education in the Arts on the University of Tennessee campus at Chattanooga.
She works with colleagues in the creation and instruction of music, drama,
dance and visual arts and teaches a course in arts integration for undergraduate
students at UTC. She also conducts summer institutes for teachers of music
education.
The deadline to pre-register for the event is Monday, March 28.
The cost is $10 for university students and $20 for everyone else. The
fee includes registration, workshop materials, and certificate of in-service
for participating teachers.
