COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 11, 2005) – Tennessee Tech University’s
Golden Eagle Marching band will take their talent from the field to the
auditorium with a concert on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bryan
Fine Arts Building’s Wattenbarger Auditorium.
“The band plays very, very musically. That is our first goal,”
said Director George Brozak. “But they also know how to have fun.
Many of the pieces we’ve featured in our halftime shows reflect
the popularity of contemporary rock music. The band loves playing the
music of today, and entertaining the students and fans at TTU.”
The concert will feature a variety of musical genres, including traditional
and patriotic songs and popular music by Ray Charles, the Black-Eyed Peas
and Destiny’s Child.
Robert Jager will be a guest conductor for the band’s rendition
of his composition, “Esprit de Corps,” a piece originally
written for the United States Marine Corp.
The band is celebrating its 74th year and comprises 160 members, including
the Golden Girls, majorettes and color guard.
Tickets for the show are $5 for the general public or $2 with a valid
student identification. They are available in advance through TTU’s
Band Office or the night of the concert from the Wattenbarger ticket office.
For more information, call TTU’s department of music and art at
