COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 5, 2005) – For those who wonder what music
and patriotism has to do with each other, the chance to make the correlation
has arrived.
On Sunday, Oct. 9, the Brass Quintet of the U.S. Air Force Reserve will
present a concert at 7:30 p.m. at Tennessee Tech University’s Wattenbarger
Auditorium in the Bryan Fine Arts Building.
Among the works the quintet will perform are “Contrapunctas III”
by Bach, Gregson's "Quintet for Brass” and Bozza's "Sonatine.”
A master class at 4 p.m. precedes the concert.
Between the two events, TTU’s Tromboteam! student trombone quartet
will demonstrate their talent with a concert at 6 p.m. The student quintet
will feature the works “Suite for Trombones” by Dondeyne,
“Trois Pieces” by Bozza and “2002” by Kazik.
The concerts are free and open to the general public. For more information,
call TTU’s music and art department at 931/372-3161.
