Countdown to the Bacchanal  

COOKEVILLE (Sept. 28, 2005) — Tennessee Tech University art professor Ward Doubet, who is also this year’s Bacchanal Committee chairperson, and Gail Gentry, the Appalachian Center for Craft’s workshop and event coordinator, survey donations of art for this year’s Bacchanal’s live auction. Donations include paintings, blown glass, functional craft and more, and proceeds from the event support academic scholarships in art and fine craft for TTU and Craft Center students. The Bacchanal is set for 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, at Spankies Restaurant in Cookeville. The live art and craft auction begins at 2:30 p.m. Other features of the event include wine and beer tasting, cocktail buffet, complimentary wine glasses and free valet parking.
