COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2005) – How would you like it if your
energy bills decreased by up to $600 annually?
Tennessee Tech University’s Student Environmental Action Coalition
will help you learn how by presenting the “Kilowatt Ours”
documentary on Monday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. in Derryberry Hall Auditorium.
The film clues viewers in on how practical energy-saving techniques can
be utilized in the best interests of both the environment and the consumer’s
pockets.
“I hope this film sparks an energy conservation movement across
the southeast United States, while boosting demand for clean renewable
power in our region,” said filmmaker Jeff Barrie.
“Kilowatt Ours” concentrates on various environmental hazards,
including mountaintop removal, air pollution, global warming and childhood
asthma.
In the film, Barrie makes an 18-month journey across the southeast United
States to document both the energy problems and solutions.
The presentation is free and open to the general public.
