COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2005) – The familiar feel of fall
is slowly rising, and the Cumberland Quintet will once again be in concert
at Tennessee Tech University’s Wattenbarger Auditorium in the Bryan
Fine Arts Building at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
Among the works to be presented are “Sailor’s Hornpipe”
by Fred Huffer, the romantic piece “Suite for Quintet Op. 57”
by Charles Lefebvre and the colorful “Variations on a Theme Op.
42” by Eugene Bozza. The program will conclude with “Three
Shanties for Quintet” by Malcolm Arnold.
Over the summer, the Quintet just finished recording their 4th compact
disc. “Into the Blue” is scheduled for release later this
year and features music from the group’s own Greg Danner, New York
composer Erik Ewassen and a host of other composers from around the world.
The concert will be free and open to the general public.
