COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (April 6, 2006) – Add a touch of spring to your
house and garden and help a deserving Tennessee Tech University student
while you're at it.
The TTU Garden Club’s annual plant auction will let you do just
that, and this year’s is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, at the
Hyder-Burks Pavilion.
A wide variety of plants for house and garden will be available at the
auction, including perennials, shrubs and trees.
Horticulture faculty members Douglas Airhart and Jed Young will be on
hand to assist buyers who have questions about plant handling and other
general information.
Participants will be treated to desserts, soft drinks and coffee —
but get there early, because all plants are typically auctioned off by
9:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the sale go toward an annual scholarship award for a student
in horticulture or landscape management.
Plants are being donated by individuals, local businesses and the School
of Agriculture.
