COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2006) – William Woodworth will be performing
a faculty oboe and English horn recital on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30
p.m. in the Wattenbarger Auditorium of Tennessee Tech University. Admission
is free, and the recital is open to the public.
Joining Woodworth for the program will be his daughter Grace, a Cookeville
High School senior. Together they will perform Vivaldi’s famous
“Concerto for Two Oboes.”
Other compositions to be performed are Handel’s “Concerto
in g minor,” a Paris Conservatory Competition solo by Paladilhe,
two short Japanese selections to be played on the English horn and finishing
— appropriately — with “Finale” by Kallewoda.
Faculty member Catherine Godes on piano will accompany.
“With the wide variety of compositions, this recital provides great
diversity and interest for even the average music listener,” said
Woodworth.
