COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 13, 2006) -- Dr. David Viera, emeritus professor
of English as a second language and Spanish at Tennessee Tech University,
was honored at the 41st annual International Congress on Medieval Studies
at Western Michigan University.
Also honored were a professor of London University and another from Michigan
State University.
Five sessions were presented in Viera’s honor, along with a dinner
and a reception.
The congress is held annually, and it is the largest congress of scholars
in medieval and early modern culture worldwide. This year, 3,500 attended
the May event.
