COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 9, 2007) – A faculty clarinet recital by
Anne Thurmond is set for Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wattenbarger
Auditorium of Tennessee Tech University’s Bryan Fine Arts Building.
Thurmond will be joined by Paul Thurmond on piano and James Lotz on bassoon
for the show’s feature piece, a new jazzy composition by Bill Douglas
titled “Suite Cantando.”
“This exciting trio is the product of a joint commission project
with composer Bill Douglas,” Thurmond said.
The rest of the show will feature a wide variety of musical styles, including
works by Darius Milhaud, Alban Berg and Latin American composer Roberto
Sierra.
