COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (March 14, 2007)—The nationally acclaimed Amelia
Piano Trio with Eric Ruske will present a concert on Tuesday, March 20,
at 7:30 p.m. in the Wattenbarger Auditorium at Tennessee Tech University.
This Center Stage event is free and open to the public.
The Trio has taken prizes at international competitions and has become
a National Public Radio Young Ensemble in Residence. It is among the most
exciting young chamber ensembles to appear in the last decade.
Making its mark by commissioning new works, such as Pulitzer Prize-winning
composer John Harbison’s new piano trio, as well as performing vivid
interpretations of traditional chamber fare, the Amelia Piano Trio has
quickly become one of the world’s most sought-after ensembles.
The Trio has performed extensively in North America and abroad, including
France, Italy, Panama and the Caribbean. It has released CDs on the Cedille
Records label, as well as on the world music label Traditional Crossroads.
The Amelia Piano Trio consists of Anthea Kreston on violin, Jason Duckles
on cello and Rieko Aizawa on piano.
Ruske, a horn soloist who will be joining the Trio for its TTU performance,
has established himself as an artist of international acclaim.
