COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (March 12, 2007)—Amy Gerhauser’s mixed
media sculptures exhibit will be on display through April 6 in Tennessee
Tech University’s Joan Derryberry Art Gallery, located on the first
floor of the Roaden University Center.
She will present a gallery talk on Tuesday, March 13, from 3:30 to 4:30
p.m. with a reception immediately following.
Gerhauser currently teaches at St. Edward’s University in Austin,
Texas.
Her work consists of indoor site-specific sculpture and artist books.
These works explore the connections between the natural world and human
material culture, and they draw upon her interest in architecture, earth
sciences, language and mythology.
She often combines handmade Kozo paper with iron and found materials
to create works that change over time.
For more information about Gerhauser’s exhibit, call Derryberry
Gallery Coordinator Janis Nunnally at 931/372—6578.
