COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (March 29, 2007) – The Cumberland Quintet will
be in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, in the Wattenbarger Auditorium
of Tennessee Tech University’s Bryan Fine Arts Building.
The show, which features masterworks for wind quintet, is free and open
to the public.
Several solo selections will be presented, including a horn solo by Jennifer
Kummer on “L’Elisir d’Amore” by Donizetti. Quintet
performances will also include “Chamber Music” by Paul Hindemith
and “a Gavotte” by Jean-Paul Rameau.
The Cumberland Quintet was established in 1972 and has toured in the
United States and Europe. The group has made numerous appearances on radio
and television and has performed as a guest ensemble at many music conventions.
This season marks the Quintet’s 34th anniversary as an ensemble.
