The Cumberland Quintet will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept.
24, in Derryberry Hall Auditorium. This concert begins the group’s
35th year as an ensemble. The evening’s program will feature a variety
of chamber music from around the world. The Cumberland Quintet is pleased
to welcome hornist Jeremy Hansen to the group. Hansen joined TTU as an
assistant professor of music this year. Other members of the Quintet include
Roger Martin on flute, William Woodworth on oboe, Anne Thurmond on clarinet,
and James Lotz on bassoon. The concert is free and open to the public.

Joshua Hauser will present a faculty recital in Derryberry Hall Auditorium
on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m.
At the Appalachian Center for Craft
A mixed media exhibit by Holly Hanessian, entitled Texture, will be featured
in Gallery One from Aug. 19 through Sept. 30.
The Appalachian Center for Craft is located six miles off Hwy. 56
(Interstate 40, Exit 273) near Smithville. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. daily. The Joan Derryberry Art Gallery is located on the first floor
of the University Center and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Monday through Friday. The Backdoor Playhouse is located in Jere
Whitson Memorial Building. For more information, call 372-6595. Unless
