COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 27, 2008) — John J. Fitzsimmons will present an exhibit of oil on canvas impressionist landscapes Sept. 2 through 26 at the Joan Derryberry Art Gallery. Fitzsimmons has earned not only a four-year diploma from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, but also has a Fine Arts degree from SUNY. His paintings have been exhibited from the entire eastern part of the United States to our U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh and have even been featured in one of Tyler Perry’s movies released in 2007. TTU Music William Woodworth will present a faculty oboe recital on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. Alumnae Carol Trent and Mark Wallace will present a flute recital on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. Appalachian Center for Craft Cara Long’s ceramics exhibit, entitled “New Works on Translucent Porcelain” is showing through Sept. 29 in Gallery One. Sarah Hood’s metals and jewelry exhibit, entitled “Small World: Constructed Landscapes” will be shown Sept. 4 through Oct. 20 in the North Windows Gallery. Center Stage
