COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 24, 2008) — Melissa Anne Morgan will present
an exhibit in fiber art and surface painting in the Joan Derryberry Art
Gallery from Jan. 14 through Feb. 8. There will be a gallery talk and
reception on Feb. 7 at 4:30 p.m. Morgan has a bachelor of arts degree
in painting from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and a master of
fine arts degree in printmaking from Tyler School of Art at Temple University.
She has won awards and shown her work in exhibits around the country.

Guest artist James Campbell will present a Center Stage clarinet concert
on Monday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
Chang and Friends will present Mozart’s Birthday Concert on Tuesday,
Jan. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
Chelsea Short and Whitney Pope will present a student flute recital on
Friday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m.

The Derryberry Competition is set for Saturday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m.
Leverette and McDonald will present a student trumpet recital on Sunday,
Feb. 3, at 3 p.m.
Appalachian Center for Craft
A metals exhibit by Natasha Seedorf, entitled, ‘Ritual Objects:
Sculptural Jewelry,’ will be shown in Gallery One from Jan. 9 through
Feb. 11
A metals and wood exhibit by Robert Marsh, Cory Robinson, Jeffery Clancy
and David Clemons, entitled, ‘2+2,’ will be shown in Gallery
Two from Jan. 14 through Feb. 18.
Mary Frisbee Johnson will present a metals and jewelry exhibit, entitled,
‘New Works in Tin and Silver’ Jan. 28 through March 10 in
the North Windows Gallery.
The Appalachian Center for Craft is located six miles off Hwy. 56
(Interstate 40, Exit 273) near Smithville. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. daily. The Joan Derryberry Art Gallery is located on the first floor
of the University Center and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Monday through Friday. The Backdoor Playhouse is located in Jere
