COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 9, 2008) — Tennessee Tech University’s
Public Affairs Office offers award-winning services.
The department — which houses the university’s digital media,
graphic design and publications, marketing, news and media relations and
photographic functions — won awards in three categories at a recent
meeting of the Tennessee College Public Relations Association, hosted
at the University of Memphis.
“These awards are an acknowledgement of our accomplishments by
both our peers at other Tennessee colleges and universities and by the
public we constantly strive to serve,” said Monica Greppin, TTU’s
associate vice president for communications and marketing. She is is also
currently serving as TCPRA’s vice president.
The panel of judges for the competition included representatives of both
print and broadcast media, public relations and marketing.
TTU’s award-winning entries included a More Than Tech radio advertisement,
Visions alumni magazine and Craft Center Summer 2008 Workshop Catalog
in the brochure and flyer category.
The university’s More Than Tech radio spot received a gold rating
in its category, with radio advertisements from Middle Tennessee State
University and Christian Brothers University earning silver and bronze
distinctions, respectively.
TTU earned silver ratings for both the alumni magazine category and the
brochure and flyer category. Belmont University received the gold distinction
and the University of Memphis the bronze for issues of their alumni magazines
submitted to the competition.
The University of Memphis earned both the gold and bronze awards for
the brochure and flyer category.
Universities that are TCPRA members were eligible to submit entries to
a total of 17 different categories in the competition, representing media
ranging from printed newsletter to web site.
