TTU supports National Guard and Reserve employees

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 20, 2008) — Representatives from the Tennessee Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, from left, Cols. (Ret.) Larry O’Rear and Bruce Jones, present a certificate to Tennessee Tech President Bob Bell and Major Jim Reed, TTU assistant professor of military science, for the university’s support of National Guard and Reserve employees. The TCESGR program is sponsored by the Department of Defense to support and educate employers about the federal Uniformed Services Employment and Redeployment Rights Act. Both the Tennessee Board of Regents and TTU support that federal law, as reflected by the university’s military leave policy. O’Rear is a representative of the TCESGR, and Jones is the program’s executive director. Photo: TTU
