FAQs for Outdoor Programs
Q. Who can rent the equipment?
All TTU students (full or part-time), Fitness Center members, or any dependent member 18 years of age or older is eligible to rent the equipment. You must leave a current student ID or current membership card at the time of rental. Your ID/membership card will be returned to you when all equipment has been returned and any additional fees have been paid.
Q. How do I rent?
The Outdoor Rental Store is located in the Fitness Center's Equipment Room. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card. Equipment can be reserved up to two weeks in advance. Payment must be made in full at least 7 days in advance.
Q. How long may I rent?
Equipment may be rented on a daily or weekly basis or by the weekend. The rent days and times for each are as follows:
Daily: pick up during normal operating hours on the day needed and return by noon the next day
Weekly: pick up during normal operating hours on the day needed and return by 5:00 p.m., 7 days after pick-up
Weekend: pick up 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday and return by 6:00 p.m. Sunday
*You may use a combination of these should you need to rent equipment for a longer period of time.
Q. How do I return equipment?
You need to bring all the equipment you rented back to the Fitness Center Outdoor Adventure Rental Store during its regularly scheduled hours (refer to main Outdoor page) on the date/time the equipment is due. If you are late in returning your rental item, you will be assessed additional fees. These fees can add up to a sizable amount quite quickly, so please be prompt with your returns. Your gear will be checked over, and if there are no additional charges, your ID/membership card will be returned. Allow extra time for checking out and checking in equipment when renting and returning gear.
Q. What happens if something is lost or destroyed?
You are financially responsible for any loss, damage, or late fees for the equipment you rent. It is in your best interest to take good care of any equipment you rent and return it promptly when it is due. This will ensure that you avoid any unnecessary charges when you return your gear. Also, cleaning charges may be assessed for the return of excessively dirty items. You may avoid this by bringing your gear back in a nice, clean condition. Any additional charges must be paid in full at the time the equipment is returned.
