Remember lock-ins? Lots of kids staying up all night in a gym or fellowship hall playing games and eating junk food? Those were fun. Remember lock-outs? Forgetting or losing your key and having to stand outside the door to your room waiting for your roommate to get out of that 3 hour Chemistry lab? Those were NOT fun. Residential Life has always tried to keep the inconvenience of a lost key to the minimum, and this year they have introduced a new spare key procedure to hopefully do just that. Students can now borrow a spare key to their room and closet for seven days in the event that their key is lost. If their key is not found after seven days, they will have to pay for the lock to be re-cored. Students must inform their RA if they lose their key as it is a security issue. If a student's key was stolen, hall staff would work with the maintenance staff to get the lock recorded right away.
