Who qualifies for Tech Village?

Listed below are the persons who qualify:

  • Married students
  • Single parents
  • Age > 26 years old
  • Graduate students
  • Students with disabilities
  • Juniors (> 60 hours)
  • Seniors
  • Faculty and Staff of TTU

What are the current prices for apartments?

  • One bedroom - $295 per month
  • One and one haft bedroom - $320 per month
  • Two bedroom - $345 per month

(Rent prices include: water, basic cable/phone, internet access, and laundry. Rent does not include: long distance calling and electricty.)

Will my financial aid or scholarship cover my deposit/prepayment?

No, a housing prepayment must accompany your application/rental agreement for apartment housing and can not be taken from financial aid or scholarship.

When can I move into my apartment?

You will be contacted by the Tech Village reservationist with the first possible date that you can move in.

What if I decide to vacate my apartment without a 30-day notice?

Please read your agreement carefully. It contains important information. Once signed and returned to our office, it is considered binding.

During holidays may I stay in my apartment?

Yes, Tech Village is a 12-month living environment.

During the summer may I stay in my apartment and not enroll for summer classes?

Yes, conditionally. You must pre-register as a student for the upcoming fall semester or submit a letter of intent to the Tech Village office.

May I move in during the summer?

Yes, pending availability after students taking summer classes have moved in.

Do I have to buy a University meal plan?

No, Residents of Tech Village are not required to purchase a meal plan.

May I remain in my apartment if I withdraw from school?

No, You would need to submit a letter to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , Director of Residential Life for exceptions to the policy.

May I install an air conditioner, washer or dryer?

No, these appliances are not allowed due to the potential overload of the electrical system. Washers and Dryers are provided in the Tech Village Laundry Facility.

Are my personal belongings insured by the University?

No. The University does not assume responsibility at any time for private property of its residents and is not liable for the loss or damage of any article of personal property anywhere on the premises. You or your parents are encouraged to carry appropriate insurance to cover your personal belongings.

Am I allowed to personalize my apartment?

Yes. Personalization should occur after you have moved into your apartment and within the guidelines set by the Office of Residential Life/Tech Village. Painting your apartment is prohibited.

Will I receive a bill for my rent/Where do I pay my rent?

No, It is the responsibility of the resident to pay his/her monthly rent without receiving a bill. Rent is due the first of the month and a late fee is assessed after the 10th of the month. Your rent is to be paid at one of the cashier windows in Derryberry Hall during regular business hours.

What is my status on the waiting list?.

You may contact the Tech Village offce at (931) 372-3271 to find out your status on the waiting list.
