Minimum Requirements
The minimum operating requirements for ResNet are as follows:
- 10/100 Network Interface Card (NIC)
- TCP/IP Support (Operating System Dependent)
- Web Browser with Javascript Support
- Phone Support for connecting to ResNet is provided with these (only these) Operating Systems:
- Microsoft Windows XP/Vista
- Apple OS X
The recommended system requirements are:
Windows Machine:
- Windows XP/Vista
- Intel Core Solo, Core Duo, Centrino Solo, Centrino Duo
OR
AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 X2, Turion, Turion X2- 1024 MiB of RAM (Equivalent to 1 GiB)
- Microsoft Office* (which can be purchased from the University)
- 10/100 Network Interface Card (Most, if not all PCs come with this.)
- For Laptops: Wireless Card** (B,G or N)
Macintosh:
- Any Intel-based Mac (support for PowerPC is waning)
- OS X
- 1024 MiB of RAM (Equivalent to 1 GiB)
- Microsoft Office* (which can be purchased from the University)
- 10/100 Network Interface Card (Most, if not all Macs come with this.)
- For Laptops: Wireless Card** (B,G or N)
* Microsoft Office is not required for ResNet; however, it is a common tool used in many classes.
** Wireless cards are not necessary to log into ResNet, but recommended for use in Administrative Buildings and Classrooms.
