WRISTS
Many problems that affect the wrists are the result raising the top of the keyboard (part closest to the monitor) higher than the bottom (part closest to you). This is based largely on historical use of typewriters and the fact that manufactures continue to put flip out legs on the keyboard which reinforces that idea that we should have the top of the keyboard raised higher. When your workstation is set up this way it causes the tendons that slide through the wrist to become kinked as it goes through the portion of your wrist that bends. Over time this wear that is placed on the tendons causes them to become irritated and swollen. Imagine wet spaghetti being pulled through your fingers. At first is slides without any trouble, but as it dries it starts to stick and grab.
Methods to control this are twofold. First avoids the keeping your body at unnatural angles for extended period. The other item is to avoid placing pressure on areas of the body that are not meant to bearing weight, such as the wrists and forearms. The optimal office setup will have your hands in line with your forearm and resting only your finger tips on the keys.
