What is your favorite thing about TTU?
My favorite aspect of Tech is its community involvement. There are many opportunities to get involved in several different fun activities with all types of people.
What is your most memorable TTU experience so far?
Great Move-In Day is an experience I can truly say I embrace because I can look back on that day and remember all of the people that I met. I am still able to say that I cherish many friendships from people I met that day.
How did you choose your major?
I am still trying to figure that out. Luckily, Tech offers many different counseling and career service opportunities that are very helpful for uncertain students, like myself.
What is your favorite meal at TTU?
I really love to order and eat the grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise from Backyard Burger. It is super delicious.... and a little healthy too!!
Advice for incoming college freshman from your experience so far?
Get involved from the beginning. If you are nervous about meeting people it is okay, most people are. Most of new students are all in the same boat. So just get out there. Randomly ask someone for their name or where they came from. If you are someone who likes to be invisible, still go out of your way to meet someone new. If you go the distance you will have very few regrets and many pretty awesome memories!!!
What is your favorite TTU Tradition and why?
I really love the sound of Derryberry's Carillon sound at each quarter of the hour. It gives Tech a more constant and easygoing feel towards the campus. It's nice to listen and hear the bell ring steadily no matter where or what you are doing throughout the day.
What kind of extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus and in the community?
I take part in a lot of different activities varying from a couple of different campus ministries, Relay for Life, Greek Life, and even a service council position. I also volunteer at the local Habitat for Humanity.
What movie star would you play in a movie? Why?
I would be Sandra Bullock so I could at least pretend to be getting hitched to Ryan Reynolds. (The Proposal)
What was your biggest mistake as a freshman? What did you learn from that experience?
I had such a great schedule first semester. I thought my classes were easy, especially the ones I had taken in high school. Just because they seem just as easy you should certainly put forth as much effort as you would a hard class to ensure success.
What is your favorite book?
The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
