What is your favorite thing about TTU?

Starbucks is one of my favorite places on campus. For one, it’s Starbucks and who doesn’t like Starbucks?! Second, it is a great meeting and study place. A lot of the time you’re going to have time in between classes that needs to be killed and Starbucks is one of the places you can go and do that. You can grab a coffee, chat with friends, or sit and get a little studying in all while enjoying the company of everyone else around you.

What is your most memorable TTU experience so far?

My most memorable TTU experience so far is by far the Dierks Bentley concert in the Fall of 2012. I was in the very front row and was able to touch him more than once. I love his music anyways, but to be right there and feel like he’s actually singing to you is indescribable!

How did you choose your major?

I was going to be an Architect with a minor in Interior Design, but decided to become a nurse. I know... Two polar opposites, right?! When I visited Tech I loved the atmosphere of the campus and had been leaning toward nursing. When I got to see our Whitson-Hester Nursing building I just fell in love and couldn’t say no.

What is your favorite meal at TTU?

The cheesy pizza sticks from Papa Johns at the Perch. They’re so bad for you, but they taste so great!

Advice for incoming college freshman from your experience so far?

“Never put off tomorrow what you can do today.” – Thomas Jefferson. But for real, don’t put things off because other assignments or tests always pop up in college. College is a whole new ball game filled with so much fun and new experiences, so just manage you time well so that you can take part in all of the fun.

What is your favorite TTU Tradition and why?

Our Awesome Eagle going to all of our campus events is one of my favorite traditions. He goes to all of our sporting events and when we have our concerts each semester; he’s down on the floor dancing around with the rest of us. Normally by the end of those concert nights you’ll find him crowd surfing.

What kind of extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus and in the community?

There are so many different clubs and organizations to get involved in on campus. For instance: I’m a part of Chi Alpha, the Student Nursing Association (SNA), and the Lutheran Students Association. I also give tours on campus every week through the Admissions Office. I encourage you to go to Tech's web site and look at all of the organizations that we offer. There are more than 200 of them so you shouldn’t have an issue finding some that are best for you!

What movie star would you play in a movie? Why?

If I could be a movie star I’d be Sandra Bullock. She is such a good role model for people; she’s hilarious, smart, and beautiful. I have yet to see a movie that’s she’s been in that I haven’t like.

What was your biggest mistake as a freshman? What did you learn from that experience?

I biggest mistake as a freshman was not caring about the first semester of finals. Tech gives you a study week for a reason; just because some of your classes don’t have anything to do that week doesn’t mean you should procrastinate since it’s the end of the semester. Take the time and actually study, it can mean the difference between an A or B or passing or failing a class.

What is your favorite book?

I don’t have just one favorite book, I have many. I like to read in my free time and there are some of my favorites: Persuasion, The Host, Catching Fire (Hunger Game series), Pride and Prejudice, Fifty Shades of Gray.
