My favorite thing about TTU is the community. There is so much support and kindness here; I don’t know where I’d be without the encouraging professors and lifetime friends I’ve met at TTU.
This is cheesy, but I really loved being an SOA last summer! It is seriously the best job I’ve ever had and I got to meet so many awesome people because of it.
I was unsure about my major until sophomore year, when I took an Intro to Sociology course. My professor was (and is) amazing and because of her encouragement, I chose Sociology with a concentration in Social Work. My dream has always been to help other people better their lives and this degree gets me one step closer to that!
My favorite meal here is a grilled chicken wrap on spinach from Mondo Subs! Ask for the Mondo sauce, it’s killer.
GET INVOLVED! You will learn a lot in your classes, but you will make memories and learn so many life skills when you’re involved in campus organizations. We have almost 200 organizations/clubs, I promise there is something for you!
The Blizzard! I love going to our annual Blizzard game because how often do you get to throw toilet paper in the air with hundreds of other people at a basketball game?
I am currently the chapter president of a sorority on campus and a new initiate of Order of Omega. I am on the leadership team at Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship and am a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences (Student Government Association). I am also a Student Admissions Representative for TTU and I volunteer weekly at my church here in Cookeville.
I would play Katniss Everdeen, because she’s probably the most confident character ever.
Learning to manage my time was definitely one of my biggest challenges freshman year, but it taught me to prioritize and to make wise decisions about how I spent my time.
