What is your favorite thing about TTU?

Personally, I love the community and the people here. The school is very community-centered, and the school does so well to be centered around the community. It’s a great place to be.

What is your most memorable TTU experience so far?

I’m really involved in intramurals. Through this, I have made a ton of friends that I share a family dinner with every Wednesday. There’s no doubt that I will be close with my team throughout my whole college experience.

How did you choose your major?

At first, I had no idea what I wanted to do. When I looked back on high school, I tried to remember what classes I enjoyed most and related that back to what I wanted to pursue as a career. I chose Chemistry, because I love the subject. Also, Chemistry is the basis for medical school, and so far, I’m happy with my choice.

What is your favorite meal at TTU?

My favorite meal at Tech is a grilled cheese with grilled chicken on it from Grill Nation in the Perch!

Advice for incoming college freshman from your experience so far?

My best advice is to come in with an open mind. You can be anyone you want to be when you come here. People don’t judge you, and you shouldn’t be afraid to allow yourself to be vulnerable, that’s how I’ve made most of my friends.

What is your favorite TTU Tradition and why?

My favorite tradition at TTU is Shinny-Ninny, because it hits close to home. It is a totem pole that goes to the winner of the TTU-MTSU football game. I live in Manchester, which is close to Murfreesboro, so beating them to me is like a college version of the Tullahoma-Manchester “Coffee Pot” matchup.

What kind of extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus and in the community?

I work on campus in the Chemistry Department. I work off campus, as well. I play intramural sports, and am involved in the Chem-Med Club.

What movie star would you play in a movie? Why?

Anna Kendrick in Pitch Perfect! She is the definition of someone who is herself. I idolized her for doing what she wanted in school, and making her own memories with people who she became close with throughout the semester.

What was your biggest mistake as a freshman? What did you learn from that experience?

Not allowing myself the time to study. Well, not making the time to study is more appropriate. I made some of the worst grades I’ve ever made in my life due to this, and I have changed my ways to become more successful.
