What is your favorite thing about TTU?

I really like how friendly everyone is and how there is always something new going on.

What is your most memorable TTU experience so far?

My favorite thing about TTU is the feeling of community that you feel as soon as you walk on the campus. The size of Tech is the perfect middle point between being to big or to small that makes it feel like home.

How did you choose your major?

In high school I was a peer mentor in one of the special education classes, and I have never looked back since. With every education class that I have I fall more and more in love with it.

What is your favorite meal at TTU?

I have a small weakness for the BBQ wings and macaroni and cheese from "Wing It" in Swoops in the bottom of the University Center (UC).

Advice for incoming college freshman from your experience so far?

Get involved with everything you can handle! It is as simple as that there are so many great clubs at Tech and truly a place for everyone. Since our campus is so small it is not intimidating to go join something.

What is your favorite TTU Tradition and why?

My favorite tradition of Tennessee Tech is the “Blizzard” that we have every so often at home basketball games. The reason that this is my favorite tradition is because when I decided to come to Tech I remember my Dad telling me stories of the Blizzard when he went here.

What kind of extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus and in the community?

I am on council for my sorority. I am in the Student Lead Teachers Association (SLTA), Student Admissions Representative (SAR), University 1020 peer mentor, member of Tech Activities Board (TAB)… Most importantly, I am a 2013 SOA!

What movie star would you play in a movie? Why?

I would one hundred percent be Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing! That has been my favorite movie of all time since I was born and plus who wouldn’t give anything to dance with Patrick Swayze for a whole movie.

What was your biggest mistake as a freshman? What did you learn from that experience?

My freshman year I think my biggest mistake was not doing the little things like I would take a nap instead of meeting friends for coffee or lunch. I was always involved, but I never took the extra step of doing the little things outside of what was required to make extra friendships.

What is your favorite book?

My favorite book depends on what book I am reading at the time so right now my favorite book is the University Common Book; however, a few that rate pretty high on the list are The Help, anything that Nicholas Sparks wrote, and The Other Boleyn Girl.
