The close-knit family feel you get the moment you walk on campus. Everyone greets you with a smile and the faculty are willing to do whatever is necessary to make TTU your home.
My most memorable moment at TTU would have to be running out to my sorority on bid day! It was breathtaking to see one hundred girls yell and jump up and down when they see you coming towards them. I have honestly never felt so wanted and important.
I’ve always been able to carry on a conversation with anyone, a knack for arguing, and have a true passion for helping others, in particular those related to Agriculture. I served as a state Future Farmers of America (FFA) officer during my freshman year of college and got the opportunity to travel to many farmers across Tennessee. I realized that these farmers needed someone to speak up for them and I knew that this job would be perfect for me! I want solidify my “Legally Blonde” aspirations and become an Agricultural Lawyer!
A loaded baked potato from Backyard Burger!
Get out and know people, no matter how frightened that may make you! I came to Tech knowing NO ONE! However, I took every day of SOAR and Week of Welcome to meet as many people as I could and I still talk to these people to this day!
My favorite TTU tradition would have to be Homecoming. I love seeing all the alumni come back and show their support for their Alma Mater! I will be one of those crazy people on day!
I am involved with a lot of clubs and organizations within the College of Agriculture that present a lot of opportunities for my future career. I am a member of a greek organization, and am active with TTU’s Honors program.
I would be Reece Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama. I love how she didn’t let her background determine her level of success. I also love that she kept her southern morals intact throughout her career and never forgot where she started.
My biggest mistake as a freshman was thinking that the difficulty level of college courses would be equivalent to those that I had in high school. I was wrong! I immediately fell behind and had to play catch up the rest of the semester. College is meant to challenge you, but it’s completely manageable if you start with the right mindset.
I do not have one favorite book. Instead, my favorite thing to read would have to be the series The Box Car Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner. My mother read them to my brother and I every night before we went to sleep! They go on so many adventures and their lives are full of excitement!
