2011 Southern Sociological Society Annual Meeting

Each year, the Southern Sociological Society has an annual meeting somewhere in the southeast in late-March to early-April. This year, the meeting will take place in Jacksonville, Florida from April 6 to April 9. The SSS strongly supports undergraduate professional development. Accordingly, undergraduate students are welcome to present their work in a comfortable, supportive environment at the annual meeting. The undergraduate paper presentation sessions are identical to other paper presentation sessions except that these sessions have only undergraduate presenters.

The deadline for submitting a paper is December 1, 2010. Additional details regarding application procedures, etc., will be available shortly.

Students are invited to submit presentation proposals to MTSU's annual Tennessee Undergraduate Social Science Symposium. This year's theme examines garbology, the environment, and society; however papers on all social science topics are welcome. There are no fees for student participants presenting papers. Presentations will be organized into topical panels and will be moderated by a faculty member or graduate student. Presentation time slots are typically 12-15 minutes long.

**A prize will be awarded for the best undergraduate paper presented.
