Cookeville Rotary Club scholarship applications are available

The Cookeville Rotary Club invites applications for a $1,000 and a $2,000 scholarship for the 2012/2013 academic year. Applicants must be currently enrolled Putnam County high school students (or home schools), or must have graduated from Putnam County high schools (or home schools), and must not have a parent or guardian who is a Rotarian. Applicants for the $1,000 scholarship must be high school students who graduate from high school by June 1, 2012, have gained admission to and plan to enroll full-time at TTU during the 2012/2013 academic year. Applicants for the $2,000 scholarship must be currently enrolled full-time at TTU, and plan to enroll full-time at TTU during the 2012/2013 academic year.

Eligible applicants for either scholarship must submit the following: (a) a resume that includes information about academics, service, leadership, and extracurricular activities, (b) essay of no more than 500 words that describes educational and personal goals, and the financial needs for attending college, (c) two letters of reference (at least one academic), and (d) up-to-date high school or college transcripts.

The deadline for applications is April 6, 2012.
