Important benefit information
The Annual Enrollment/Open Enrollment Period for Benefits which take effect Jan. 1, 2013, is Oct. 1 through Nov. 1. The deadline to make any changes or additions is 4:30 p.m. CST Nov. 1. Enrollments/changes will not be accepted after the deadline.
To better serve you, we created a TTU Enrollment webpage http://www.tntech.edu/hr/enrollment/. This details the available benefits, how to make your changes and so much more. We are having 7 Help Sessions in Clement Hall Computer Lab 313B. Please feel free to drop by Clement with your questions or if you need help processing your changes. For dates and times, please go to the website.
If you want the Flexible Spending Account (Medical and/or Dependent Care), you must enroll each year. Form, brochure and instructions are on the webpage.
If you do not want to add the state vision plan for yourself or your dependents and you are happy with your current benefits selections, no action is required to remain enrolled in your current coverage. For vision information, please read below.
Your benefits, including the new optional state EyeMed Vision Insurance Plan, are outlined in the 2013 Decision Guide which you should have received at your home address if you are in the State Health Plan. If you are not a plan member or did not get it, you can access this on the TTU Open Enrollment website. http://www.tntech.edu/hr/enrollment/.
If you want to add the State vision plan or enroll in or make changes to your benefits listed here (page 5) you must do so using Employee Self Service in Edison. There are step-by-step ESS instructions in your Decision Guide.
Most of you have not used ESS before. A letter, with your user ID and temporary password, was mailed from the State Benefits Administration to plan members the week of Sept. 24. If you did not receive it, we will have that information at the help sessions.
To learn how to use ESS, you can participate in a webinar for higher ed employees in October. Please register here.
If you are unable to join a webinar, don‚t worry, there is a how-to video. Click here to view the video, and do not forget to turn on your speakers.
If you have additional questions, please attend one of the seven help sessions listed on the webpage. http://www.tntech.edu/hr/enrollment/
TTU offers an excellent Employee Benefits Package. Please make sure that you read and understand your options.
