Speaker announced for Student Research Day

Joseph Matteo of ProNova Solutions will deliver the keynote address for the 8th Annual Student Research Day ceremony Thursday, April 11.

Matteo is the division president of ProNova Solutions Research and Development and Manufacturing and Provision Center for Proton Therapy. He has more than 20 years of technology experience resulting in numerous patents and publications. Prior to joining ProNova, he served as the chief technology officer for Advion Biosciences and was the founder of Nano Tek, LLC. Nano Tek was designed to pursue the development of micro and nano-scale technology for rapid production of radio labeled imaging agents for use in positron emission tomography. ProNova is a medical sciences company developing next-generation proton therapy technology to treat cancer.

Matteo will share the relevance of cutting edge research in our contemporary world and the critical need for student researchers.

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies is host for the event to promote undergraduate and graduate student scholarship through research. The event will be in the Multipurpose room of the Roaden University Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Posters will be judged and awards will be presented for the “Best Posters” of the undergraduate and graduate divisions. Judges comprised of faculty volunteers and community partners will select the winners of each participating academic department.

Students will share research and discovery of new knowledge and findings through abstracts and poster presentations.

The awards ceremony will be livestreamed. Additionally, highlights throughout the day will be communicated via Twitter.
