Tennessee Society of CPAs to honor Dan Fesler

The Tennessee Society of CPAs will award this year’s Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award to Dan Fesler. The honor recognizes a full-time or retired accounting educator who has made significant contributions through teaching as well as through active involvement in the profession. Fesler’s enthusiasm and love of accounting has inspired several thousands of students over the years and his continued involvement with TSCPA makes him a well-deserved recipient of this year’s award.

Fesler is a past president of the TSCPA’s Upper Cumberland chapter and currently serves as the vice-president. Fesler has served three years on the TSCPA board of directors and has played a significant role in TTU’s working relationship between the university’s accounting department and the TSCPA.  In the past 20 years, the Educational & Memorial Foundation of the TSCPA has provided more than $2 million in scholarships to deserving Tennessee accounting students. In the last three years, more TSCPA scholarships have been awarded to TTU students than any other Tennessee university. TTU students have been awarded 100 TSCPA scholarships. This year, TSCPA has awarded TTU students $58,750 in scholarships.
