Tennessee Learning Standards-Aligned PD Workshops
June 9 (Sat.) / 9am-12pm / $30 / Science / Grades PreK-K
Investigation Stations | PD Credit: 3 hrs | Instructors: Martha Ramsey & Jean Webb
Experience explorations with chemistry, life science, technology and physical science for young children. Participants will rotate through a variety of stations to investigate various science concepts. Activities will focus on Tennessee state science standards for Pre-K to K. Participants will be involved in developmentally appropriate strategies to convey science process skills for young children.
June 16 (Sat.) / 9am-12pm / $30 / Science / Grades PreK-2
Inquirize Your Teaching | PD Credit: 3 hrs | Instructors: Dr. Jane Baker & Dr. Martha Howard
Turn ordinary science experiments into inquiry investigations where students ask and answer their own questions. Participants will experience an overview of inquiry instruction, participate in sample investigations and receive sample lesson plans. Workshop activities are aligned with the Framework for K-12 Science Education guidelines.
