Symposium History
The Stonecipher Symposium brings distinguished speakers and
events to campus as a forum to discuss contemporary issues of concern to
engineers, scientists, humanists and the general public. Students, as future leaders of
our nation, are made aware of issues that are important to the development of a
nation and a culture and are encouraged to participate and share their
viewpoints.
Among this year's TTU sponsors are the Center
for the Management, Utilization and Protection of Water Resources, the
College of Arts and Sciences Terry Martin Stonecipher Fund , the
College of Engineering and the English
Department.
In its fifth year, the Stonecipher Symposium continues to bring together
students, scholars and representatives from industry, government and the
community. The annual event is named for and partially funded by Harry
Stonecipher, Vice Chairman of the Boeing Company and 1960 Tennessee
Tech physics graduate.
