Unit Planning Guidelines & Instructions
- There are new strategic goals for the 2005 - 2010 year .
- The Old Departmental Mission and Goals website has been updated.
- It is now called the Institutional Effectiveness Support System.
- Look for a more user-friendly interface.
- A unit goal can now be linked to multiple university goals.
- Unit goals are also linked to university assessment indicators.
- Multi-year goals are automatically carried forward (beginning in 2006).
- Updated security and simplified login (note: inactive sessions will be disconnected automatically).
Instructions for Updating Progress on 2009 Goals
- Go to the Institutional Effectiveness Support System and log in.
- Select year 2005 and click on Update Progress on Goals.
- Select goal and complete all fields.
- Click on submit and repeat for each goal.
Instructions for entering new goals for 2010
- Review new strategic goals and assessment indicators
- Each unit should develop goals that relate to at least one university goal in each major category (Leadership, Access, Quality, Resourcefulness).
- See some example unit goals here .
- Go to the Institutional Effectiveness Support System and log in.
- Select year 2006 and click on Add a New Strategic Goal.
- Enter new unit goal.
- Click on the check boxes to show which university goals this unit goal is related to.
- Enter your action plan and assessment plan.
- Click on the check boxes to show which assessment indicators this unit goal might improve.
- Click on submit and repeat for each goal.
- Although the QEP goals should not be included in this years plan, units can enter a goal that indicates they are developing QEP strategies.
