There are two divisions...
Float Division- Competition for organizations that build a float. Trophies and prize money will be awarded.
1st Place-
$300
2nd Place-
$200
3rd Place-
$100
Entries for the Float Division must complete a float
information form (PDF).
Pride Division- Competition for recognition. The winners will receive the TTU Pride Awards. This division should include all participants from the University or the Cookeville community who do not build a float.
Parade Day Guidelines
- The parade line up will begin in the Hobby Lobby parking lot. Please have your entries ready to be lined up by 9:00 a.m.
- Please park as far away from
the front of the stores in the shopping center as you can. We
want to minimize the disturbance to the stores and shoppers.
- Entries must remain 25-30 feet apart throughout the parade.
- Entries should stop at the
judges reviewing stand for a maximum of 20 seconds. If
entries do not stop in front of the reviewing stand, the
judges will not score them. Judges will view entries from
the driver's
side of the vehicle.
- A member of the sponsoring organization must remain with
the entry at all times.
- After the parade, park your float on Stadium Drive behind
the football field. All other entries may disperse.
- Do not remove floats from Stadium Drive until the football
game is completed
- All floats and decorations MUST be disassembled and properly
disposed of by Sunday, November 9, 2008.

Parade Entry Rules
- All entries are subject to the approval of the Homecoming Committee.
- Entries must be related to the Homecoming Theme, the Football
game, and/or TTU Pride.
- Maximum dimensions of floats are 12 feet high and 13 feet wide,
and floats must be able to turn street corners.
- All paper decorations MUST be non-flammable.
- Parade entries must be equipped with at least an ABC dry chemical
fire extinguisher (arrangements for extinguishers may be made
through
TTU Warehouse- 372-3309)
- Explosives, such as firecrackers, are prohibited. Generators
are prohibited on floats.
- Horse-drawn floats or units using live animals are prohibited,
except with special permission.
