Teacher education has been a vital part of Tennessee Technological University since 1915. The Office of Teacher Education monitors and facilitates procedures for candidates from admission to the teacher education program through program completion and coordinates licensure programs leading to 35 endorsement areas for both initial and advanced certifications. Current licensure programs are available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The TTU teacher education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
TTU's College of Education is taking part in the TBR Ready2Teach program redesign.
The primary goals of the Ready2Teach Initiative are to:
- Prepare teacher candidates so that they have a positive impact on student performance from the first time they enter the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with schools to improve outcomes for students, schools, and communities
