It's been a year since Sue Bailey, director of
Human Ecology, took on the added responsibilities of principal investigator
of several grant programs the Upper Cumberland Child Care
Resource & Referral Center, Tennessee Early Childhood Training
Alliance and the Child Care Assessment Unit. Despite the increased
workload, she always has a consistent smile and even temper, say
her co-workers.
"Although many transitions have occurred
during the past year, Dr. Bailey has continued to be encouraging,"
says Rhonda Middleton, resource and referral specialist. "She
believes in the purpose of the grants, which all affect child care
facilities and children in the Upper Cumberland. She supports the
university's role in community involvement and sees these grants
as a grand opportunity to reach out into the community and lend
a supportive, guiding hand in a 14-county area. Individuals like
this make our university and community a role model."
