In honor of Valentine's Day, the first 4,000
fans heading into Eblen Center tomorrow night, Feb. 14, will receive
a special gift from Russell Stover plus the opportunity to
win larger prizes from the candy maker.
Tech hosts in-state Ohio Valley Conference rival
Tennessee-Martin in a league basketball doubleheader with the women's
game tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game to follow.
"Because Russell Stover has a manufacturing
facility in Cookeville, we are especially pleased that the company
has chosen to support Tech basketball and Valentine's Day with our
fans," says interim Athletics Director Frank Harrell.
And to top things off, the Saturday games cost
just $1 for White County fans as part of Athletics' basketball promotions
this season.
"I know that White County fans have a long
history of supporting Tennessee Tech basketball," says Golden
Eagle coach Mike Sutton. "Both our men's and women's programs
have benefited from recruiting some of the county's outstanding
players."
Residents of White County can pick up ticket vouchers
at various locations. With the vouchers, fans can purchase tickets
at Eblen Center for $1 each, with no limit on the number of tickets
purchased per voucher.
White County auto dealer Bill Boruff Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge-Jeep
will provide commemorative mini-basketballs for 1,000 fans.
Special events planned for Tech's OVC doubleheaders
culminate in Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, Feb. 28.
