The seventh annual Stonecipher Symposium on Technology,
Communication and Culture, with the theme Engaging a Culture
of Service, will once again spark discussion and debate on
a topic that is important to modern society.
Beginning on the evening of Monday, March 29,
and lasting all day Tuesday, March 30, the event features keynote
speakers Rosie Mauk, AmeriCorps director, and Judith Sealander,
historian on philanthropy, and will explore the questions surrounding
service and whose responsibility it is to help the less fortunate.
The symposium coincides with the official opening
of our new Promise Volunteer Center on Tuesday, March 30.
All events, except the keynote addresses that will be held in Derryberry
Auditorium, will be held in or near the OVC Room. For complete schedule
information, visit www.tntech.edu/stonecipher
or call 3507.
The Stonecipher Symposium is named for and partially
funded by Harry Stonecipher, CEO of The Boeing Company and a Tennessee
Tech graduate. The event is free and open to the public.
