| When
the Tennessee Board of Regents holds its quarterly meetings, our
governing body not only conducts official business, but has a chance
to become more familiar with the places most directly affected by
their actions.
Those quarterly meetings, hosted by a different
TBR institution every time, are opportunities for the host campus
to show off its best and brightest.
Our opportunity to do just that comes up Thursday-Friday,
June 10-11. For months, university committees have been planning
ways to show off our campus, as well as arrange for the nuts-and-bolts
requirements of our visitors.
TBR regents and board staff will begin arriving
in Cookeville Wednesday evening, June 9. Most business meetings
and presentations will take place in the Bryan Fine Arts Building,
and most meals will be served in the OVC or Multipurpose rooms.
Parking for meeting participants will be reserved along the Walton
House driveway and in the lot across from Pennebaker Hall.
A tentative business agenda for the summer meeting
includes approval of degree programs, review of campus pay plan
methodologies, tenure and promotion recommendations, updates on
the legislature and Tennessee lottery scholarship program, and other
administrative items.
Other activities include a multimedia presentation
about Tennessee Tech and tours of campus and the Craft Center, as
well as selected locations throughout Cookeville.
The meeting is expected to cause only minimal
disruption to normal campus activities. Contact Debbie Combs at
dkcombs or 3301 for more
information. |
