Beginning
this summer, Accounting will offer its full complement of upper-division
accounting courses online. Current TTU students, students from other
four-year colleges or universities, or community college students
who have completed 60 hours may find this online option just right
for summer and beyond.
“This program is the only place to turn to in the state for
online upper-division courses,” says Jon Booker, professor
of Accounting. “These same courses are all offered in the
classroom and bring the same quality instruction to students who
have to deal with busy schedules.”
Booker says he anticipates that the program will be popular with
"career changers," those who may already have a degree
but want to pursue accounting as a career. Accounting has been rated
as the top employment opportunity nationwide three out of the past
four years.
This summer, the classes offered will allow students who attend
another four-year college or university to work full-time and still
take courses toward a degree. Also, community college attendees
with 60 hours can advance their skills and job opportunities through
the online program.
Tennessee Tech is offering these classes through the university.
However, they may also count toward the undergraduate Interdisciplinary
Studies degree through the Regents Online Degree Program. Prerequisites
for our online accounting classes may be earned through RODP as
well.
