There have been several problems with the scheduled air conditioning
work during the semester break. Facilities anticipates that air
conditioning should be restored to the Hooper Eblen Center and Recreation
and Fitness Center by tomorrow.
The work at the intersection of University Drive
and Peachtree Street is off schedule because existing valves are
not holding, but contractors plan to work all weekend installing
new pipes and valves. Tentatively, air conditioning will be restored
Wednesday or no later than Thursday of next week in the Roaden University
Center, Foster Hall, Johnson Hall, and Pennebaker Hall.
Peachtree has been closed for the new South Loop
pipe installation. The
plan is to install new pipes across Peachtree by the middle of next
week and
temporarily re-open the street to insure that traffic can flow when
summer semester begins.
Watch the campus home page for more updates if
there are any major changes to the current schedule. If you have
questions about timing or individual problems, call or e-mail Larry
Wheaton at 3589 or lwheaton.
