Nominations for Tech Sports Hall of Fame inductees are being accepted
through June 30.
New members are inducted each year during the
Letterwinners' Breakfast as part of Homecoming festivities. This
year's Sports Hall of Fame dinner is set for Friday, Nov. 4.
Nominations remain active for three consecutive
years. Criteria for membership:
* Open to persons who have made a significant
contribution to the university through intercollegiate athletics
as an athlete or non-athlete (coach, administrator, supporter).
* Consideration will be given to continued contributions
to society through community activities, through performance in
chosen fields, and through avocations on a level as to bring credit
and distinction to the university.
* Athletes must have received a degree (from Tennessee
Tech or other four-year institution), and a period of 10 years must
have elapsed since the competitor completed eligibility. At least
five years must have elapsed for a coach, administrator or supporter.
Nominations received after June 30 will be considered
the following year. To request a nomination form, call Athletics

Last year's inductees into the Sports Hall of
Fame were Delores Wheatley, assistant athletics director for academic
advisement/student success; Anthony Avery, point guard, men's basketball;
Beth Keylon, pitcher, softball; and Andrea Roark, shortstop, softball. |
