We started welcoming the newest members of the next class of TTU students to campus last month, as this season's SOAR — student orientation, advisement and registration — sessions began.

The SOAR programs consist of a two-day period (except for transfer students, who come for one day) for new students to become acquainted with campus and prepare their academic schedules.

Mark your calendars with the following schedule for the remaining SOAR sessions this summer — and remember that all of us can make a difference in helping our newest students feel welcome on and connected to our campus.

* Thursday-Friday, June 9-10: Honors students

* Tuesday, June 14: transfer students

* Thurday-Friday, June 16-17: new freshmen

* Monday-Tuesday, June 20-21: new freshmen

* Thursday-Friday, June 23-24: new freshmen

* Thursday-Friday, July 21-22: new freshmen

* Thursday-Friday, July 28-29: new freshmen

* Monday-Tuesday, Aug. 22-23: new freshmen
