Two TTU professionals have been recognized by the Kappa Delta Pi
international honor society in education for their commitment to
our chapter of the organization.
Jann Cupp, associate professor of Counseling and
Psychology, serves as chapter counselor, and Mena Williams, secretary
in Counseling and Psychology, is the group’s assistant counselor.
Their leadership and mentoring activities were
highlighted recently when international leaders recognized our chapter's
induction of more than 30 new Kappa Delta Pi members and its representation
at the society’s 44th Biennial International Convocation.
“We know that the success of a local chapter
depends on the commitment and leadership of the faculty counselors
and the mentoring these individuals provide to their students,”
wrote Executive Director Michael P. Wolfe and Society President
John D. Light in a recent letter to President Bob Bell. “It
is essential that we call their work to your attention, as it enhances
the strength of your education program and its graduates. It is
always a pleasure to recognize faculty members for outstanding service
to students and our profession."
The Kappa Delta Pi honor society was established
94 years ago, and having an involved campus chapter such as TTU’s
helps teacher-education programs with accreditation issues while
also helping teachers from participating institutions to become
among the best in the field. |
